My children started at Cumru last year, and I'm disappointed. My children, third grade and kindergarten, were threatened by a first grader on the school bus. The little girl sent as far as saying "I'll bring a gun to school and shoot you if you telling me.". The administration was horrible in their handling of the situation. The girl continued to ride the bus and intimidate my oldest until, she's afraid to take the bus go or from school, and their was zero communication from the administration other than a "we received your complaint" note. My children's teachers were very good and deserve praise. However, I have safety concerns if this is an example of their idea of discipline.

My daughter started Kindergarten here. I thought, with so much hype surrounding the school district, I thought I would no problems with any of the staff, especially since my daughter loves to learn. We ended up having a HORRIBLE year, because the teacher wouldn't respond to constant request for additional work(because my child was bored with the homework they gave her). It was like pulling teeth when we finally did. She always commented that she(the teacher) was "too busy" to give my child extra homework or books to read to challenge her. This is a teacher who had a teacher's helper, and only 15-20 students in the class! I am not satisfied with this first, and last, school year in this district. For all the work I had to do because the teacher wasn't willing, I figured it would be better to homeschool her myself- and that's exactly what we're doing!
