My child has been attending this school for 3 years. The teachers are good, but overall it is just an average school. The school teaches the same curriculum over and over again without making any changes. The teachers aren't really open to change and the kids have a lot of down time during the day. The PTA is constantly begging you for money and having fundraisers. It's a nice safe school...but it is certainly not above average and not worth the taxes I pay for it.

We have had children at Bower Hill since 2005. The teachers especially have always gone the extra mile to challenge my accelerated student and assist my other child. However, I do agree the office staff could be more friendly. I am surprised by the previous review because I receive emails almost daily from the school district and the schools where my children are enrolled. There is one site to sign up for email notifications and the user is able to choose from which schools they would like to receive updates. I have been involved with the PTA and with various events at the school. The parents are always willing to help with special events like Game Night, Family Rec Night, etc. I also think the district does a very good job of encouraging involvement in the arts. Overall, I am very pleased with Bower Hill and the Peters Township

6 months down the road and disappointed by this school daily. Teachers are great, resources & communication isn't. Started receiving volunteering emails a month before school ended, received yearbook info after the yearbooks were sold out, never received a school directory, never received papers needed for schedule changes. Unless you've grown up here or meet other (hopefully helpful) parents in the district before your kids start here, you don't get information. The front desk staff has been very cold each time we've been there. It's a very tight knit community and hard to feel welcome. We suggest you read the comments for the other schools in the district, you will find this situation for new families moving to the area is common at all of their schools. With Marcellus, IT jobs & Carnegie jobs many families are moving here so the district needs to improve their new family resources & welcoming.
