Amazing experience. Phenomenal teachers and staff!! So happy with this district!

MCH is great...we are new to the school community and find it to be a warm, nurturing environment which challenges in a positive way.

At first I thought this was a good school but its not. The blonde kindergarten teacher is one of those women that is all nicey nice but is really just snide. Instead of praising my daughter for her little drawings she was po'ed that she had done them. The second grade teacher my son had was a lady they pulled out of remedial teaching and she was terrible. I hope they took her back out of the classroom after that year. His third grade teacher was cool and did fun things but didn't teach them much. The teacher the year after resented that she had to make up for him. My daughter had some issues due to a minor disability and her second grade teacher tried to say that she had major psychological problems and even the school psychologist and other professionals didn't agree with her. You can have a "good" school and bad teachers and a "bad" school and good individual teachers. I liked my son's first grade teacher but she was gone after that year. I don't know if we just got the bad ones or what. I never did like the prinicipal, very fakey. They had no air conditioning in the school when temperatures were in the 90's outside but did in the principal's office.

After one year at a dreadful school in a different area we decided to move and pay more in rent to attend Mary C. Howse. It was worth every penny. Never before have I seen, as a parent, a better staff, facility and PTO. My kids' teachers were invested, communicative and effective teachers. The principal is involved and knows students on a personal level. The reading specialists have drastically improved my daughter's reading (which was the worst result of the poor school district we attended before). We are extemely happy in all respects of our child's education and care.
