We recently moved to Avon Grove and I am so very glad that we did. My girls enjoy going to school. As my oldest said after her first day of middle school, "Everyone is so very nice and friendly!" Communication at the schools are great which is a big change from where we came from, and the teachers are wonderful. Best decision we have ever made!

My child attended AGIS for 4 years. We had 3 good teachers out of 7 (switched for reading, math & content). The principal will tell you want you want to hear but will not do nothing to fix the problem. Their anti-bully policy is nonexistent. My child was being called names, shoved into cubbies, elbowed and kicked. We were told "this is teasing not bullying". I am glad my child is out of AGIS and headed to the middle school (which is wonderful).

AGIS has been great for both my daughters. We've LOVED every teacher but one. But, hey no school is perfect. And my daughter still got her education from this teacher, even though she didn't rub us the right way. Otherwise, I can not say enough good things about the school. The principal seems like he REALLY cares & puts his all into his job there. He is out there every morning assisting with the children entering the school. He has fought for a better grade reporting system, etc...I spoke to him once about a concern I had & he has remembered me ever since, waves to me in the car line and all!

We move to this school from another district this year. Based on the INCREDIBLY high school taxes here, I'd expect much more. So far I'm underwhelmed. Besides one fantastic teacher, all I'm finding is a lack of response (teachers say "please call or email us," but if you do they don't answer), instruction below the level of what my child had in her old district in lower grades, bizarre rules and procedures (a weird notes-based system for carpool and after-school clubs that makes little sense and doesn't work as intended -- too long to detail here but suffice it to say I've found NO ONE who feels this system either works or makes good sense), and a basic lack of understanding and logic as concerns an ever increasing variety of issues of importance to my family and my child's education. Hopefully I'll get into the swing of this, but so far I'm just not feeling the love.
