Aiken High School

Been here a long time and I still love Aiken High.

We have been extremely satisfied with Aiken High. Because of the population of low-income students, the school deals with challenges which other schools may not face, but Aiken High rises to the challenge. We have especially been pleased with the guidance department. The new physical campus is such an improvement over the old, outdated facilities!

How does the school respond to bullying?: They don't respond whatsoever, the school tends to put it off, and try to delay any punishments, as they believe that "Oh it's just teenagers" "They'll stop". They never punish any form of bullying. My son is nearly to the edge, and is strongly considering dropping out, to avoid the avid amount of bullying that occurs at this High School location. I could not recommend this public school to any parents that shows even the slightest amount of love towards their kids, as the school tends to set a bad example, for how bullying, and other offenses should be handled. If I could leave a negative star review, you'd be danged sure I would.

I have had 3 children at aiken high. The teachers we encountered were very supportive and worked well with each of my kids individual needs. My son, now in med school was very prepared for his college experience. Many of the classes at AHS were of the same rigor as his engineering classes at USC. any time I asked for support I got it, any time my child asks for support they get a response. The new school grounds will be a great asset to an already good staff . I highly recommend AHS for any student!
