Cottageville Elementary School

My son is in Kindergarten and has come a long way throughout the school year. His teacher keeps in contact with me to share his progress. She really cares about the success of all her students, and I trust her.The school sends home a monthly newsletter of events, holds monthly PTO meetings with student performances and recognitions, and promotes community involvement. The faculty all the way up to the principal is inviting and easy to talk with if you have questions or concerns.Every teacher uses the Class Dojo program that all parents can access, logging student behavior throughout the day. (This is in addition to classroom tracking of behavior.) At the end of the quarter, students who earned above a certain threshold of points are rewarded. My son is excited to know how many points he's earned each day, and if he lost points, he can more easily remember why he lost them since the program allows the teacher to give a brief description of the incident ("-1 for horsing around"). It makes discussing issues with my 6-year-old much easier.At first I had reservations since I grew up in a suburban school district, but so far I really like CES. It's a very good school that I would recommend!

I wonder sometimes!!!No updated home page,no school shirts 2 school yrs in a row,parents smoking right in front of the school at pick-up time.Just petty things I guess but things that can be fixed but seem to just lay...do however like my childs teacher for she has made nothing under a 93 and that is what is important really.
