The teachers as a whole are great but can only do so much because of a micromanaging administration who doesn't spend time with the kids. If you care only about test scores and how things look on paper, it's a great school. However, if you'd like your child to have some autonomy and be treated as an idividulal, there are other schools in the district that are better (Midway, Rocky Creek, Pleasant Hill). The amount of homework this school requires of the kids is insane and most of it is not developmentally appropriate. This school is not suitable for children with special needs, learning disablilities, or IEP's. Our needs were not met and we felt like the school was always working against us. We ended up pulling our children out (after 3 yrs. of struggling with NPE administration/guidance/psychologist/OT...and watching our oldest with a learning disability drop from 70%tile to 3%tile) and putting them in private schools after being awarded scholarships for special needs kids. It is frustrating to have moved to the area after being told it was the best fit for our needs only to find out they only care about scores and fed funding.

NPE has great teachers who sincerely care about their students. They will go above and beyond to ensure each student is learning the material and succeeding in school.
