Edisto Elementary School

Edisto Elementary is a great school that offers variety and stimulation. It is up to the parents to assist the teachers at home to grow our children. Parents are the primary teachers. Don't blame the school, if you are interacting with the teachers and following up with your child. You are your child's advocate. If there is something lacking, it probably started at home.

Regretfully, my child has been attending this school for two years. I agree with the comments submitted regarding the absentee principal - I have had complaints about one of my child's teachers and sent emails directly to the principal and she never had the common decency to even acknowledge receipt of the complaint and allowed the teacher to handle the issue herself. This particular teacher is beyond unprofessional in the way she interacts with parents and handles the children in her classroom. I have been told by a number of her students that she yells a lot in class and falls far behind in the curriculum throughout the year and then attempts to cram all of the information into a short period of time. I am also apalled that the students are allowed to take a test more than once until they get a score that looks better for the teacher and that is the one sent home. If you are a parent who cares about your child getting a good education by teachers that truly care about your children, this is not the place for you!
