I was a student during the "Karie Kuster era" of this school (2011-2020). I know that the school has gone through a lot of changes since my departure from the school in the 2017-18 school year, but this was just my personal experience. I'm going to start with the positives first. The teachers here are ok. The good-to-bad teacher ratio is about 1:1, the teachers that are good really do try to be the best teacher they can possibly be. A good example of that type of teacher is Stacey Crawford, my fourth grade teacher (who now teaches 6th grade!). She was by far, the best teacher in that school with a amazing approach to learning and just all around a good person. The staff outside of the teachers are good too. They are all nice and very approachable in any situation, however take note I do not know how good the new principle and vice principle are cause they started 3 years after I left for middle and high school. The school has great academics, with almost every kid passing the STAAR test no matter the race, gender, etc. The school has a very big recess area with a huge track, slides, and swings. The school also has a big library with a great librarian. Now here is some minor complaints that probably don't really effect the decision of taking your kid to this school or not. The former principle, Karie Kuster, was not the best. But she is no longer the principle here anymore you do not have to worry about her. When I went to Ditto they did not have a parking lot, it was a dirt road with metal poles connected to each other by a chain. And if it was or had been raining, good luck getting your car out of that. However this probably won't be a issue anymore as they finally added a parking lot. Now I am gonna present some real issues this school has. I don't know if it is still like this, but the food there was HORRIBLE. I remember the Nachos there were made out of this really cheap cheese gloop that tasted horrible, with countless more examples. I said the good-to-bad teacher ratio was 1:1, but those bad teachers are REALLY BAD. I am not sure if they're are still at the school or not, but they can really ruin your child's day. The school tended to transfer a good teacher over a bad one. An the school also tended to be cheap. That being said, I would recommend taking your kid here. The positives far outweigh the negatives and all schools have their own problems.

We most highly recommend this elementary school. It is truly the best in Arlington.

The Best!! This elementary school has been the best one in Arlington for decades and continues to be a great school to prepare students for the future both academically and socially.

The principal is horrible, there are several teachers working here that enjoy making children mind by insulting them for normal things that all children do, like talking to their friends and other normal child like behaviors.
