Atascocita High School

This school expects a lot from those who work there. If you attempt to communicate with teachers and administration, then you can expect the same in return. Oftentimes what parents perceive as a lack of communication is the result of teachers having 180 kids and assuming that parents will use their online ability to check their children's grades instead of having to be contacted directly in high school.

School has changed dramatically in the last 3 years. Students now show great pride in the school. They have even started calling it "The Atascocita High School"

The school is Atascocita High School. We just moved to the area, and if I could afford to move out of this school's district, I would. Mistakes were made from the day of enrollment before school even started by the administration there, and they gave me the run around for two weeks. I had to call the Asst. Superintendent. Even he did not assist. To advocate for my son, I had to go to the school for a meeting (which the principal all of a sudden could not make) and tell them I was not leaving until someone could meet with me to resolve at least the scheduling issue. What kind of example is the administration of this school and district showing parents and students, when they don't keep their word or appointments. By the way, I am disabled and it is quite an effort for me to get to the school to begin with. If you are considering moving to this area, please reconsider ....There were more issues that occured. But it would take too long and there is not enough space here to describe everything that has occured. Once again, if you can avoid this school...please do, for the sake of your childs education.

This school is one of the worst in Humble ISD. The faculty is awful, specifically the principals. They will harass your student before contacting you and then give them an unreasonable punishment for the smallest infractions. Kingwood High or Kingwood Park are much better schools compared to Atascocita High.
