Teachers at McBee work really hard. The administration always has a smile in their face. However, I would say that does not matter how much effort the staff at Mc Bee put into these students if parents do not work together very little could be accomplish. Many schools today, Mc Bee included, have the philosophy that parents are so busy that the staff have to do everything they can for the students and avoid homework because many parents are not supportive. If we as parents do not provide the time our kids need how could we expect that teachers do their job and ours too and at the top complaint about their hard work. I read several review about students failing and parents not knowing anything. That is ridiculous. If you do not know how your kid is performing at school what are you doing? that should be your priority.

There are both great and bad teachers just like there are both great and bad parents. I do not understand how people can say that they did not know their child was behind in their education and the parents did not receive notice of that until the end of the school year. Report cards are sent home. You can access your childs records online and you as a parent has the RESPONSIBILITY to check in with his or her teacher to see how your child is doing. Do not wait for the teacher/school to contact you; be proactive, be involved and volunteer some time at your child's school. Too many parents just want to drop their kid off at school and leave it all up to the school; that is just ridiculous. I know many parents who do not even help their child with their homework. If your child needs tutoring, find someone outside the school to help. You can contact your local church and ask for tutoring help. Many churches offer to help. Long story short. . . take responsibility for your child's education and don't just leave it up to the school.

The school is unorganized, Teachers including the Principal Rafael Soriano release students without the parent being present, Which for me as a parents is really unresposible. Teachers and Principal should atleast wait for parent to be near his child before releasing into the croud of people. Staff in the office have a bad attitude, when i comes to asking them questions. I am not saying all teachers are the same, because there are great teachers there for example Ms. Combs, always answers questions with a smile.

I didn't know my child was really behind in reading until I received his report card and went online to view it.There I realized he had already been enrolled for summer school. During the year I didn't any kind of support such as mentoring , or tutoring information.
