Overall, I feel many of the teachers are very warm and encouraging with their students. I am concerned about the lack of a strong math/science foundation, but I am filling those voids during summer vacation. The art, PE, and music teachers are all phenomenal, and my son had great experiences with them the 2 years he was there. Unfortunately my son's 5th grade classroom experience overshadows all the positives Pinkerton offers (it really was THAT discouraging). I honestly don't think I would recommend placing an elementary student in that type of classroom environment. The fact that I don't appear to be the only one with this concern should indicate there IS an issue that needs to be addressed.

This entire site has lost it's credibility due to the Coppell school district ratings. It is obvious that these ratings are about property value and not the schools. This school does not focus on the students. It focuses on itself. The entire class that my son attended for two years, never learned multiplication. They recognized that from third to fifth grade they hadn't taught the class multiplication. And then they continued to not teach this to the fifth grade class. The entire grade class! What's more is that the teacher sent me a stock letter about my son failing more than one subject when I confronted a different issue about a week after conference. We switched to this school from Austin Elementary because they weren't teaching much there either. My child now has a 100 in math because he is being taught at home. The experience at this district has fallen short of the high tax dollars. Very political. The last homework my son had, was coloring the states on election night. In fifth grade!

We just finished our 5th grade year at Pinkerton, an IB candidate school. We were beyond impressed with how our child grew this year. The 5th grade program concludes with an exhibition towards the end of the school year. The students were so well versed on their topic and had amazing presentation skills. Wonderful program! We've enjoyed seeing the changes they've made at this school to incorporate the IB curriculum, which develops the whole child as an inquirer and global citizen. Great parent community too!

My daughter's 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Hope is awesome. She takes time to identify the strengths of every student in her class and works with each and every one of her students to help them achieve their greatest potential. She is truly a remarkable teacher and one of the greatest teachers I've come across in a very long time.
