Alex Sanger Elementary School

I have 2 children here since Kinder and we lucked out with this school. The school is bilingual so this is a big plus for us. Our boy is going to 5th grade, and our girl to the 2nd grade. Our daughter is autistic and in the past year has improved dramatically - she can now read near her grade level, and learned to read and speak in English and Spanish! Our son is in TAG and got to travel to 2 robotic competitions, with their group placing in both of them! It's very easy to get involved as a parent, and the teachers keep in constant communication with us via technology or the good old fashion phone call. PTA is strong as well. We were pleasantly surprised it was named one of the top elementary schools in DFW! Our son got an offer to be transferred to a "magnet" school but we are staying!

My daughter has attended Sanger for 3 years and before that Lakewood Elementary. She has thrived at Sanger and I have been impressed with all of the opportunities for afterschool activities for the kids. Super responsive teachers and administrators. The addition of middle school makes choosing Sanger easy.

We have been at Sanger for a year. My kids love their school and I love the principals the school upholds, the diverse, multi-cultural community and the teachers who give above and beyond for this little neighborhood school. A school which just received six out of six distinctions from the Texas Education Agency. Sanger was one of only six elementary schools in the entire Dallas ISD with this achievement. We love Sanger and highly recommend it.

Parent involvement is very impressive. The teachers and all staff from custodian to principal are attentive to their students. They show true compassion and eager to teach these kids with their heart and soul. I love this school and am extremely happy with my decision to keep my children at this school. They have attended since Pre-K and now going to 4th grade. My 5th grader attended since Pre-K as well.
