Both my husband and I are lifelong products of private schooling, but we chose Walnut Hill Elementary over area private schools for our children because the academic standards are rigorous, the opportunity for gifted and talented dual language instruction is unique, and the parents and families at Walnut Hill Elementary are lovely. Our expectations have been exceeded across the board.Nothing is perfect of course, and there is room for improvement in school wide communications with parents and family engagement in general. But these are issues that the school administration and teachers are determined to tackle, and we are thrilled to have found this school community.

It really feels like a private school when you walk in... Everyone at this school is held to high expectations; parents, students, and teachers! The teachers and students are amazing at the school. The school is committed to meeting the needs of students.

I had a son who received special education services. They transferred him and several other students through the ARD process. I believe there is only a single digit number of special education students on this campus. If you believe your child may need some special education, then I would not recommend this school. Also, don't let the pictures of the rewards from TEA and the pictures with Edwin Flores with the Principal fool you. They hand select their students to achieve those rating. It was not done by the merit of the Principal or the teachers aiding to disadvantaged children!
