Overall, it was 7/10. Academic wise it was maybe a 5/10, but I was in choir and my teacher helped with whatever he could.

They only care about kids who can play sports. They do not do anything about bulling. They do not respect kids parents. If your child is special ed good luck trying to get them to follow their IEP’s. This district is worse than Dallas ISD.

DeSoto High School strives to educate all students and provide them with the tools they need to go to college or enter the workforce. There are many certification programs such as aviation, vet tech, medical, automotive, and culinary arts to name a few. DeSoto High School has the Collegiate Magnet Program and the Early College High School where the students have an opportunity to earn an associate degree while in high school. They also have the International Baccalaureate Program. My son is graduating with an associate degree. He also took classes in animation which will be his major in college.

DeSoto High school has changed a lot . If your child is low performance than you will have to be involved for them to succeed. You must be active . I have 4 kids so far to graduate , so this is from experience and you must fight for your child , because it will not happen . Schools are not the same its being ruled by people that are not in the class room . Teachers are under so much pressure that they cannot use their expertise like they where taught in college to teach our kids!
