West Handley Elementary School

This is my sons first grade year at this school, which was a mistake on my part. Kindergarten was so horrible and unorganized with a disrespectful and verbally abusive staff and faculty. This year so far, i have not receive notice of anything happening, at all. Only last minute details. No one likes to communicate and urban slang and rap are practiced amongst the custodians and hall monitor. They are careless and rude and have felt it necessary to not approach me with concern for my child but to openly ridicule him and myself while favoring another student in what was a mutual disagreement. It was uncalled for and completely immature. I tried to speak with the principal only to be met with another rude employee, the secretary. While speaking to her, while in tears, she basically laughed and kept trying to move me to a bench to sit down. I am disgusted beyond belief with how the staff and faculty conduct themselves at this school. I have yet to receive any communication but have only seen and dealt with mockery and ridicule. The kids are often forced to eat their breakfast within 10 minutes, 7 of which the announcements are on. Mind you, no one is allowed to eat while the announcements are on. That gives them 3 minutes to scarf down burnt or undercooked food. And if the two women in the cafeteria do not feel youve eaten fast enough, there will be yelling, verbal abuse and threats made. This not acceptable, my child and these children deserve better. My elementary school experience was so much fun. These kids have nothing to look forward to at this school. No programs, clubs, boosters, fundraisers. Nothing. No improvement. No PTA!

I WILL NOT BE PUTTING MY SON IN WEST HANDLEY FOR HIS 2ND GRADE SCHOOL YR. WE MOVED TO FTW LAST YR FROM WEST TEXAS. THIS SCHOOL IS SO UNORGANIZED, THEY SEND NOTICES ABOUT UPCOMING EVENTS LITERALLY ONE DAY BEFORE. HOW DOES THIS GIVE ME ENOUGH TIME IN ADVANCED TO GET PREPARED? MY SON'S TEACHER WOULD STILL CALL HIM BY THE WRONG NAME BY THE END OF THE YR, ACCUSE HIM OF STEALING HER PENCILS JUST BECAUSE I HAD BOUGHT HIM THE EXACT SAME KIND, THE LIBRARIAN ACCUSED HIM OF LOSING A BOOK AND FINED HIM WHEN I EXPLAINED HE TURNED IT IN...THEN LATER SHE FOUND IT. I MEAN THE LIST GOES ON AND ON!
