Burton elementary has improved tremendously over the past year. Attention is being given to the maintenance and upkeep of the school and it’s grounds now and the school is getting back to being the hub of the community and getting students and parents involved again. It is such a terrific turn-around thanks to the new leadership at the school, mainly the new Principal.

Heartbreaking, there is no continuaty in discipline, not enough eyes on the children, not enough parent involement at home or at school

I have 3 children that have been at Burton over the past 4 years and this school is okay, but I do agree with the other parent about more field trips. Growing up out of state, we had fields trips about every two months, of course, we had to pay a little to go (ie. $3-$5 or something), but it is well worth it. I In my opinion, this school is a little crowded for an elementary school. I believe the population to be between 900 - 1000 kids. There should be another school built for those who live in surrounding towns to go to. Extra-curricular activities would be nice, but I really didn't have any of that type of thing going on, until middle school. I do on the other hand wish they had a music department where the kids can play in the band or orchestra.
