I was in every extracurricular you can name and was at the top of my class. The environment is fun, but the teachers are terrible and do not prepare you for college. They don't pay their teachers enough so we're left with recent college grads as teachers without any experience that stay for a few years and then leave to go to another school district to get better pay. The school also invests nothing into actually bettering the minds of students and only care about their image in the community.

HF is a good all around school district. As with all school districts though there are always the cases of bullying, and the “In” crowd being chosen for sports and such first without regard to who was a better candidate.

This school is a NIGHTMARE!! If they would only get rid of the upper echelon; superintendent, head principal, they finally, got rid of the AD with his bully tyrant sidekick, then this could be a great school. These people have created a very hostile school environment! This school has no regards to children's safety and has no intention of protecting the students. This year they sent 3 students to ICU in Houston, over 1 coaching incident and many more students had a trip to the ER. They even refused to acknowledge the students, ER visits during and after the incident. This school covered up and disregarded the safety of the students. We have many more incidents with the same coverups! We have some of the greatest kids, that you will ever see or meet, attending this school. Now, there are some GREAT teachers in this school, but they have their hands tied with the upper mgmt., and have been known for being bullied by the superintendent, until they resign. I always thought these schools were for the kids and not the adults. Makes me Wonder what they are really covering up! School board meetings are the worst, with an out of control superintendent that does a lot of yelling and screaming, on the closed door sessions. Parents have been trying to get a drug program going, in this school, for 2 years now. All the resistance to the proposed program has come from the superintendent, not the parents. Oh they did get a private dog handler, to come in from a neighboring county. They sent their poodle in for a search, but guess what, they have no jurisdiction to search.! The poor little pooch did find a spent shotgun shell, oh, and a CASE style pocket knife in a vehicle. Wonder how that happened, didn't know dogs were trained to sniff out a pocket knife, unless their is residue on. I guess the school doesn't want the local sheriff's dept. to come in and do the search, they may be scared of finding a butter knife, or heaven forbid, toe nail clippers. The middle school is a dream and a great school to attend. But, I'll bet the superintendent finds a way to destroy that! So, because of who is running this district and high school, I feel it is terrible, and I don't even want to give em one star.

I've been attending H-F since I was in 3rd grade and I haven't had any problems, with the exception of 1 teacher, who is now working at a different school. Many people say our school is bad, but the reality is that it's magnificent. The ones you will hear saying this are the ones that aren't involved in any extracurriculars and don't participate in their school enough to know anything. The teachers work with you if you need help. There's tutorials before and after school. The band practices as much as possible. The athletics program works hard. Grades are spectacular. There's so many clubs, extracurriculars, electives, and organizations to join. There's athletics, band, honor society, choir, chess club, robotics, one act play, fall production, debate, Spanish club, French club, UIL, FCCLA, CERT, Teens in the Driver Seat, etc. I see so many of my peers not being involved when they have so much potential and so many great resources at their hands, yet they just waste it and do as minimal as possible. This is a great school to go to, and if anyone says otherwise, it's more than likely because they don't know what H-F has to offer due to their lack of involvement.
