Cy-Creek is a large school and offers a high level of academics, extracurricular programs, and leadership. Like many large schools the student / parents have to "opt in" to take full advantage of these offerings. I have four children and all graduated from Cy-Creek HS. All were extremely well prepared for college and for life from the high school part of their development. The parental part of a young's person development is the other part. All of my children took full advantage of AP classes, varsity sports, band, etc etc. All four went on to college - one to UT Austin, the other three to Ivy League schools. I've met my kids college classmates and their parents, coming from high school programs across the country, and their preparation was very comparable. Cy-Creek HS teachers took a personal interest in their success. I constantly run into their teachers in the community and they ask about their life after high school and college and they remember them by name. In a large high school setting you get out of it what you put into into.

Excellent! My children excelled in their classes! Both of my kids were really ready for college because of the preparation that they received at CyCreek High School!

My kid had a teacher teaching AP English IV, she really can't teach. Half of the class had no clues to what she was teaching. She should stick to teaching Grade 10 and below English course. All the good teachers just left and whoever left are just average teachers. Yet, Alumni gave credits to undeserving teachers for their success in life.

I believe you get out of it what you put into it... No matter what it is in life. It is a large campus and with that comes the greater potential for good things and bad. My daughter has 7 fabulous teachers that are doing a great job! She has level K and AP classes with the exception of moving to an on level Algebra 2 - easy transition - administration were very responsive. The one teacher we are not thrilled with is new to Creek this year and complained at Parent Night that she's not used to her students wanting to learn! What? Step up English Pre AP teacher... Jury is still out on this one - life is not perfect - it's our jobs as parents to stay on top of our child's education.
