the school is disorganized, and some of the administrators blatantly ignore the wrong-doings of some children. there's a clear bias in how they punish children. as a student, i've noticed that they tend to ignore children who are "popular" or have a big following, as if to avoid the trouble of dealing with the immense backlash they'd receive from the students' friends. they have an obvious favoritism for students who greet them regularly, and go easy on the them when they do something wrong. and don't even get me started on the lunch lines. it's extremely disorganized, and the majority of teachers monitoring the lunch lines DON'T PAY ATTENTION. that's what causes immense delay in students getting their lunches. there's been too many instances where i only get 4 minutes to eat because the lunch lines were too "confused." there are teachers who AREN'T EVEN AWARE OF HOW THE LUNCH LINES WORK and send students TO THE WRONG PLACES and the students get IN TROUBLE FOR BEING WHERE THEY WERE SENT. there's also the case of teachers not enforcing their rules in the classroom. they preach to send the student to the principal's office, yet they do nothing! at! all! it's like they're scared of getting in trouble with the parents!! i apologize for my ranting, but i'm honestly so sick of this school. the education is average, but that's only if you get lucky and get put into classes where the teachers know what they're doing. there are too many teachers on campus that don't understand how a student processes new information. and this isn't the school's fault, i'm sure, but taking away electives for a year and then implementing them again the next is a very inconsiderate, and wishy-washy, action. all in all, take it from a student: if your kid has the patience to deal with this mess of a school, your kid is gonna go very far in life.

After reading many of these reviews l can honestly say as a parent and county resident that has a child who currently attends HBMS, my husband and l are satisfied with the education that our child is receiving under the leadership of Principal, Deidra Lyons - Lewis and her awesome faculty. I think many of you have the wrong perception of HBMS, this school offers a lot and it may be run differently than you like, it's a shame to post untrue and derogatory comments of where you chose to have your child educated. Lead by example and encourage your child/ren to be studious, respectful and obedient. Otherwise, you won't receive phone calls from teachers. That alone shows you that the teachers at "The Bend" really cares if a phone call is made. But...- At no time you will have to worry about your child's safety here at HBMS as all the secondary campuses throughout FBISD have an peace officer(s) on sight for the safety of the students and staff as a whole. Please do not allow negative comments here deter your child's opportunity to attend Hodges Bend Middle School. Keep up the Excellence Warriors! C. Hopes
