My son is in Kindergarten is year. I feel the curriculum is not necessary up to my standards, however, the teacher has always made herself available when I contact her. My son is receiving additional homework, per my request. As a parent, I recourse alternative education material. I have made several visits to the school. One does not get past the common area without picture identification. The principal is always available. One should take some responsibility for the education their child receives. No school is perfect. Spend time with the child.

The kindergarten curriculum is more of a "pre-K" curriculum. The staff treats the children as if they were inmates. They don't give them enough time to eat their lunch not even the "thirty" minutes they're suppose to have. It deeply saddens me to see five year olds begging to be allowed to take another bite of their meal. Also, school does not follow the security protocols other schools follow. It terrifies me that pretty much anyone go inside the school. From the cafeteria to the administration, front office, and to the Teachers they are very disorganized. As a parent I would recommend you Settle in a different School District. Don't get stuck in a place where the School lacks basic security protocol, Parent's concerns are not taken seriously, and teachers treat students like criminals. They are children. Not adults. While I admire teaching children to be mature and respectful I definitely not support stripping them from a happy childhood.

My son has been attending Reynolds since kindergarten as we live in the neighborhood. I have been pleased with all of my son's teachers over the years and he has received lots of attention to improve his grades when he lags behind. While I do like the school and the new principal, I have noticed each year that the diversity of students is changing as is the socioeconomic background of the children. The area that is zoned to Reynolds is not the greatest with the exception of the neighborhood Reynolds is in and even that is changing...like to see what happens after the new neighborhood off of Fernglade is finished.
