I have 3 children 2 that are in middle school now and 1 that will be going to kindergarten. From the first day I meet the teacher that was going to my first son's prek teacher I knew I found the right school. I was bullied very bad when I was little and I always felt I should homeschool my children. That teacher changed my mind. She took my son and made me feel safe about him staying with her throughout the days. Which were very had for me. I knew he was fine being with her. To this day those teachers throughout the years are still making me feel just the same as before, safe. My two older boys have always been above their grade levels and my soon to be kindergartener is on his way too. I am very proud to say they are Roadrunner strong and proud.

My experience here was amazing to say the least. I grew up about a block away from the school and that was extremely helpful to my family who were always struggling financially among other things. I was raised by a single mother and had my older siblings look after me while she was at work. The convenience of being able to walk to and from school was also met by many of my other peers who grew up with me and some even lived about as far as Chavez High School was from us. I was the first in my family to attend here all of my Elementary years (2 grew up in El Salvador and 2 had previously attended another school) and was actually the first boy in my family to break the cycle and be the first to actually graduate (besides my older sister of course) and the same success was followed by my younger brother. This elementary built a foundation for me and developed me into a habit early with our work being rewarded with outside recess time back when I was a student 2000-2007 (pre-k to 5th grade) and got me prepared to become a G&T student and a pre-AP and later AP student in middle school and High School. While it did not offer very many programs after school, it did what it could for us. The teachers are able to be successful in their methods of teaching while still being able to have fun and taught us valuable lessons I still hold dear in my heart today. They are great at remembering as well, as even now in my 20s when I go visit my nephews (who now attend there) old teachers that once taught me are still able to recognize me and my friends and remember our names. Because of the way me and my younger brother turned out it made my brother and sister in law bring their children here to become just as successful and kind hearted as we are and so far 2 out of the 3 (who are now in middle school) have been just as successful if not more (also due to the superior parenting they have as well as income). Even back when I took the TAKS here during the most difficult year (5th grade) I received commended performance in all if not most of my exams, and I was never given any special treatment or had any extra help in or outside the class. I simply did as I was taught when it came time to perform. I absolutely love this school and even considered in the future to bring my children here as well.

My children have attended Rucker for 3 years now and I'm happy that they'll be returning for another year, a higher grade level with another great teacher and fellow students. I am so excited about the wonderful programs Rucker has to offer, such as the Science Lab, Dyslexia Program and their Music Programs, especially the Guitar Lessons! The teachers come early and stay late to help the students excel in tutorial classes. When there's a new program available for the students that's not within the budget, the teachers and staff literally put forth their own money! Everyone helps everyone! I'm so proud my children are being are being taught and guided by teachers who love, care and strive for success for/ from each and every student!
