Sterling Middle School is poorly rated by both district personnel and the community alike. The environment is toxic. It inhibits the students ability to maximize their potential and truly learn. The principal, Brandon Garza is a dictator, he does not have the students best interest at heart and his staff reflects him, as all of the good teachers transferred or quit. Your child will be forced to fit into his predesigned mold or suffer the consequences. Title I funding is being received but is not being utilized to benefit the kids (increasing knowledge and providing avenues for them to express their creativity.) If you are an involved parent, your voice will not be heard unless you co-sign the schools initiatives. The school is filled with teachers clocking in to receive a check and it is obvious through their decision-making and the performance of the kids. If you desire a place for child to grow and achieve as they strive to fulfill their purpose - this is NOT the place. Run and transfer to another school.

This school was a mess when it opened in 2008. It had the most imcompetent administration ever and worse principal known to the education system. A hardworking staff was demoralized by a tyrant and nothing got accomplished. I hope the new principal has turned around this poor piece of an excuse for school.

I am an 8th grader this year, 2013-2014, at Ross Sterling Middle School. I must say we have outstanding teachers, one of which who is one of the top ten teachers in the US, Mr.James Polomsky, I am not just saying that, there is certification and everything else to prove me right. My peers are amazing athletes and scholars with outstanding personalities. They are always there to help me. Although Sterling was hectic when it first opened several years ago, none of that happens anymore! We have an IB program and an extraordinary Athletics and Life Skills department. We have a rule here at Sterling, 80+ and we are well reminded by it. Our Counselors are just Flabbergastingly Awesome! My 8th counselor Ms.Yazdi is really beautiful and gifted with a way of words to make you feel better. People should stop trying to give Sterling a bad name. We don't even tolerate bullying over here, the teachers and staff didn't even have to tell us anything about that, we just all respect each other. And that other comment about people "snorting smarties" nobody does that, that just causes maggots to go up your nose. And we don't talk about who's fighting who because we don't even have fights here. -KV
