If it had better leadership like any school it’ll be a better school. As of now it sucks and I’m going to move to not have to deal with this school

Cannot wait to get my kids out of this school. I have one child not started yet and we are going to sell our almost paid off house just to not let her go through it as well and move to Katy ISD. No communication, send home messages with the children and expect them to tell their parents. After the loss of the wonderful principal Jae Simpson-Butler, it has gone down ever since.

I was at first a little nervous when we moved to the area because of the low rating on this site. I must admit I was even ready to find problems at the school. The only complaint I have is that some of the front staff is not very friendly, but my son and daughter love their teachers. When I visit for lunch, the teachers are smiling and engaging with the students. I love this school and I'm glad I didnt let this low rating steer me from sending my children.

My family and I moved into the Eagle Ranch West subdivision that was zoned to Hemmenway. My son started in PreK there even though the Great Schools number was low I thought that it was still a Cy-Fair school and must be good, right? WRONG! From the moment you step into the building you are met by a snotty receptionist who doesn't even smile. The registrar is even worse - no smile and seems like she HATES her job. Not one staff member seemed to be happy to see any of the kids. After a few months, I pulled my son out. When I would ask him about his day all he could tell me was the type of consequences the "bad boys" got. I felt like he wasn't learning. I spoke to the teacher and the Principal but felt like it went in one ear and out the other. We've since moved to another Cy-Fair elementary school (one that gets a 9 out of 10) and its amazing. SO glad we got him out of Hemmenway.
