Rosa Parks/Millbrook Elementary School

We're only a couple of weeks into the near school year, but I'm pleased with what I am seeing. I like the way things are going at the school and the district as well.

My son has attended this school going on 3 yrs and we have had horrible experiences with some of the teachers and the disobedient students. Majority of the teachers are rude and scarcastic with the students and parents. I've witness a teacher tell a student that's a dumb question when that student asked a question she was unsure about something. That is not professional. That is discouraging for that student to want to approach that teacher again. Kids were laughing and that young girl felt embarrassed. I also myself asked a teacher of ways of communicating besides take home calendar sheets and her response was... You need to check your child's hand out that was sent home. Again unprofessional and rude. I've asked for additional assistance as far as extra copies of paper and was advice that it would inconvience her if she honored that request. At that point I'm ticked. All concerns has been address with the schools officials but no changes has been seen. Some are there just for a paycheck and to them it's just a job not a career. With that being said, my child will not be returning back to this school and will experience a more diverse environment with a better learning environment. Nothing is perfect but you can always find something better. Do not send your child to this school.

This is our third year at Rosa Parks Millbrook Elementary. The staff and teachers are doing a great job. They really care about the kids.

My daughter has attended this school for the three years and all of her teachers were terrific. In the few negative parent reviews, blanket generalizations were made against all teachers at this school and that is a totally unfair characterization. None of my daughter's teachers had a 'chip on their shoulder' or regularly screamed at students, they were hard-working educators truly dedicated to their jobs. As a very involved parent, I've witnessed this firsthand.
