program at this school. You are made to believe that it is a collaborative effort between the parents and administration, but that is only as long as you agree with the administration's decisions. They are more concerned with fitting a special education student into a preset "mold." When that student doesn't fit into the preset molds the district pushes them around from campus to campus rather than utilizing special education services to help the student succeed and takes no interest in working with students' private therapists or psychiatrist. Creekside also needs to be held accountable for how often they restrain students who have disorders where restraints only escalate the issue. Multiple times restraints resulted in bruising and caused psychological damage to a student. The school has also violated several TEA provisions and refuses to accept responsibility. One of which a student was suspended for an action the school could not prove wasn't related to their disability and refused to hold a manifestation determination meeting to prove the suspension was lawful under TEA special education provisions. Creekside sets students up to fail and takes no responsibility when confronted. LISD is failing special education students. Before moving your student here ask how many special education BIC students have been integrated back into mainstream classrooms and how many have been sent to other campuses. I would also highly encourage parents of special education students to know your rights because the school does not get to decide how to educate your child even though they will try. Hire a special education advocate to fight for your child's rights. LISD does not have a good reputation for special education services and I completely understand why. Districts and schools like this one is why special education students get left behind and have a higher dropout rate.

For the most part this is a good school. There are some teachers there that really engage the students in learning and excited about education. I am sadden by the removal of some programs that I feel were benificial to the students and a lot more focus on technology. Technology is important, but so are hands on classes, like drama. The front office staff is very friendly and the assistant principal is very pro active and communicates well with students and parents. There is a huge gap between the parents and the principal. He appears to be concerned about your situation or concerns, but never follows up with you and almost dismisses you. You feel like he is not genuine to parents or his amazing staff.

I am very pleased with this school. You really can not ask for a more compassionate staff. Everyone has been so welcoming to my children from the Principal, office, and teachers!!! They genuinely care for the safety, and have showed an exceptional care of learning for all children. The teachers and principals show their support for the children and create a safe and exceptional learning environment for all the children. They even showed up to my sons soccer games. That means a lot not only to the kids but e as a parent because they go above and beyond! My son is in 5th grade and has enjoyed this school year at Creekside!

My child attended first grade and is ready to move onto second. In the beginning it was rough because my child was moved to another class because her current teacher was reassigned to kindergarten in response to the increase in students that year. Her new teacher was undergoing some credential meetings/classes so she had quite a lot of subs that year. The teacher, herself, seemed overwhelmed with 21 students & very impatient while all other other first grade teachers seemed confident& happy! With that being said, the school as a whole seems great! It's definitely secure, no denying that & well laid out. They have art, music & p.e. classes as well a duel language program! The extra activities to involve parents & guardians are pleasant; & the principal himself is very nice & professional. Communication between the parents & school is pretty average with varied ways to keep up with school events. Although the flyers need to be better & Spanish versions are below average.
