Mary Burks Marek Elementary School

This school is completely unorganized and the staff does NOT communicate with one another. There is a complete disregard for children's safety and privacy. I was in a nasty custody battle with my ex-husband and was awarded full custody by the court.I contacted the school administration to let them know that I would be bringing a copy of the court records and to not let the noncustodial parent have access to their records, nor was he allowed to pick them up any more. I was promised that they would not by a school attendant, and that they would wait to the end of business next day they were open, (which was a Monday during the summer months) to get the copy of the court order.Monday morning comes, and before I can make it to the school at 8 am, my ex husband shows up requesting their shot records and report cards and he was actually given copies after I was PROMISED that he would NOT get anything, and no one at the at the school thought to say this doesn't sound right. Why would a custodial parent need shot records....Well NO DUH.. a custodial parent always has access to that information and would NEVER need to go to the school for a copy of it.

A great principal plus awesome teachers equal top elementary school! It's all begins with the principal-- Mrs. Krystal Hawks. She is the most knowledgeable, caring, and gifted elementary school principal I have ever met. She cares and serves each student at Mary Marek. She communicates with all parents if necessary. I passed by the school often to and from my house, I have often seen her work passed 6-7pm during most school days and work on weekends including Sundays for the sake of our kids! Mrs. Hawks is absolutely the "Iron Chef" of elementary school principal in my eyes. A HAPPY PARENT WITH A CHILD ATTENDING MARY MAREK

My daughter has attended Mary Marek for three years now and this year she is going to the third grade. All the teachers we have had are outstanding. The principle Ms. Hawks is also excellent and is very easy to communicate with. My daughter is really excited about school and I could be happier as a parent.

My son loves that school and his teacher Mrs. Schweke , I'm so happy because the communication between school and parents is excellent. I'm so happy ...
