After going to White Oak Middle for three years I can say this: It's not as bad as people make it to be. First I'll start with my experience, I moved right after fifth grade to this school, knowing nobody. And, well, I soon made lots of friends, and grew close to many teachers. (And I'm a relatively shy person). Most teachers really do care about you, and what your doing. Almost all of the teachers at White Oak are qualified, and friendly. Trust me, don't worry about getting bad teachers. The curricular is well made. The Staff: The school just recently they updated their staff members, which was very much needed, and they are very strict on behavior, and acting right. When I say strict, I mean that they make you do as they say, but if you're in the guidelines, you don't have to worry. The staff greets everyone at the door each day with a smile, and each staff member is kind to the students, and actually friends with many students. The Cleanliness: You may not understand, but it is VERY hard to keep a middle school clean. There are a bunch of disrespectful people out there. But recently they have put much more effort into the cleanliness. The Extra-Curricular Activities: I am a VERY artsy person, and I couldn't go to a school without any arts departments, but this school has a slew of amazing arts. The two Art teachers have many supplies, not many schools have (modeling clay, kiln, etc.), and they grade, not on talent, but on hard work. Also both are very funny, and good at what they do. The Current Theater Director is Amazingly Wonderful, and she works VERY hard on each play she produces, and is a very fun person to be around. The Band is AMAZING, currently, we are a varsity band. Both of the Band Directors are amazingly talented, and make their Band perfect. (Go Bassoon!) . The Orchestra, and Choir are also amazing, and each director works their hardest, and asks you to join. Also, you can be in multiple activities, I'm in Orch., Band, and Art. The counselors work with each student on their schedule very well. Now, that's just the tip of the Iceberg, there's also an agriculture class, a career exploration class, dual language classes, a library helper class, and many more. I would talk about Sports, but I'm out of words. But I will say, they are very successful. Overall, White Oak is an amazing school, that just has a bad reputation.

The school doesn't even try to keep students interested, they just punish them if they don't pay attention. There are a few teachers that actually care about you and want you to be successful, but the majority care more about themselves than whether or not you're actually learning. All the school's extracurricular funding gets thrown into sports to get them new equipment, weight rooms, fields, etc. This leaves clubs such as Theatre, Band, and Honors Society with meager funding, meaning they shrink because they don't have the money to do everything the athletes do. The clubs that could get the students to enjoy school get swept under the rug and are treated worse than dirt.

It is an OK school. Most teachers rate better than 3 but a couple gave me a pause.

I truly love this school. Their Latin and Greek advanced classes helped my quintuplets establish a high command of the classics by Aristotle, Plato and even Homer. This school is so safe, my oldest of the five feels comfortable enough to bring his exotic international stamp collection to class for show and tell. When a kid threatened to take it away he laughed, it was just a joke. The teachers here are so happy, they smile and really like their jobs. They actually teach and enjoy their work. I'm glad these kids are recruited to the top colleges from around the world like oxford, London school of business, MIT &.of course the favorite of all white oak superstars Lone star college. Oh yeah the character building by the gangs coming in from California, the kids of drug kingpins who now fill the hallways well those guys are misunderstood, we need more money for education.
