Potranco Elementary School

HORRIBLE. I have filed a formal complaint with TEA and my next step is to hire a special education attorney to file suit against MVISD.

Over all our experience was great! The teachers and faculty was responsive to concerns or requests. This has school is strongly family centered and really cares about the students and their families.

Let's just say this school's attempt on circumnavigating a set process led to me removing my son from the district as a whole. I don't trust their judgment nor do I believe they care about anything other than enrollment numbers. They are rated low because they deserve to be rated low. Changing the faculty and staff members won't matter if the culture and environment isn't addressed. I understand it's a public school but a little empathy and ownership of your mistakes would be nice. Telling a family you messed up but you're not going to do anything about it isn't exactly going to build confidence within the local community.

My grandchildren went to this school for two years and I am so pleased that they now attend a much better school, more well equiped and run, in the Northside School District. Their teachers at Potranco, last year, were good people but the administration of the school was severly lacking. You'd better not have a problem with the principal because the man has no interest in hearing any thoughts other than his own. I wish you luck if you have a child attending this school.
