Amazing! This school is way better than all the other "smart schools" such as Dulles, Clements, Elkins, and many more. The school is very diverse, which is pretty important. My daughter gets good grades, occasionally failing, but the teachers work with her to bring her grades up, and she is able to pass and catch up, it just takes time so be patient. The staff and students are very polite and wonderful here, and really makes sure students do their best. I would never let my child go to another school!

Outstanding Fine Arts program! The choir teacher is so dedicated to his job. His commitment to the students is exceptional. I am new to the area and so pleased with what I have found at Austin High School. I greatly enjoy going to various concerts/events after school. When you visit, take a walk down the fine arts hall and listen to students practicing their instruments, their vocals, whatever... they are there because they want to be... even better the teachers foster this sort of "love for learning." The school is thriving.

Looking forward to see if the new principal, who seems to be very good, makes changes including some crass administrators and ineffective teachers. Academically, the school is full of high achievers and overall good teaching staff.

I've been a student at AHS since my freshmen year. I am now a senior. This school possesses dedicated educators and dedicated parents. I have never seen so many parents involved in their child's high school education. Need I mention the teachers. They work extremely hard to prepare their students. And the overall behavior at AHS is phenomenal. You don't have to worry about your child getting "beat up". It's amazing of all the great opportunities at Austin. Lots of clubs and activities to participate in. I am so excited for this upcoming year. I am glad to be a BULLDOG!
