Having left Austin behind happily, I enrolled my children in Taylor schools. We have kiddos at Pasemann, Main Street, and Middle. In all instances, the teachers and administration have been superb. Two of my children have chronic illness and needs medicine throughout the day, and the staff has been very accomodating and on top of it. The old school standard of discipline and rewards is a welcome change from feel good, everyone is a star, everyone can do no wrong "standards" of Austin public and Austin charter schools. Thrilled to be here.

Main Street Intermediate is a great school! The staff and principals keep the students eager to learn. When my children are struggling they make sure the parents are aware and discuss a plan to help, for school and home. I absolutely love how involved Mr. Motal, and Mr. Crow the principals are by planning fun creative events to reward the students throughout the year. This is a great way for the students to obtain a relationship with the principals.

IF YOU CAN HELP IT, DO NOT USE THIS SCHOOL! My son has been in Taylor schools since kindergarten. Up until he transferred to TH Johnson I was pleased with the school system. He has autism and ADHD. The teachers couldn't care less. Both the teacher and the administrator walked out of his annual meeting while we were trying to discuss plans for his academia because they had more important things to do. I have had the bare minimum of communication between teachers and parents. The lack of responsibility in the staff and teachers actually caused me to change his medication so that the nurse would not have to administer it to him. He only received his meds half of the time during half of the first semester. When I asked them about it, they said it was because he just couldn't remember to come in at his medication time. My son is constantly complaining of the noise level in the classroom, and they have no accommodations to put him in a quieter place. I think until this year my son has been blessed with phenomenal staff and teachers. I am considering putting him into the local private school for the protection of his continued education. His grades dropped from A's to C's.
