The entire school district is outstanding, but Burnett has really worked hard at turning into one of the top schools in Collin County. Teachers are engaged and involved. Coaches, theatre, and music teachers are amazing and give so much of their own time. The AP and accelerated learning programs leaps and bounds better than what we saw in the elementary schools. ISD administration is involved and aware. Test scores are up, while test pressure is down. All in all, even though we live in one of the highest taxed school districts in the state, the budget is clearly worth it.

Burnett really struggled in 2010 and 2011 but in 2012, the administration focused on making some big changes. The curriculum, parent involvement and discipline changes really turned the school around. Test scores went up and the students are now focused on learning.

The academics are less than poor. The kids are rude and their language is worse. Some of the teachers are nice but others just sit on their phone the whole class. I am a student and I'm ecstatic i have the opportunity to change schools. On another note they tend to discriminate new students by not putting them in ANY advanced classes, even when their requested.

The teachers and staff here really work hard to connect with the kids on their level, to make it a fun environment.
