The student body is diverse, both economically and ethnically. While, this diversity drives down overall test scores, I believe that it provides a great environment for my son to thrive in. The school dedicates a tremendous amount of resources to all students (struggling, exceeding, and those in the middle) and the staff will bend over backwards to help a student succeed. My son has been extremely happy here for the past 2 years and I highly recommend it.

This school changed administration two years ago. The former principal was trying to turn the school around, but the low work ethic with students and teachers at this school is so systemic that many revolted any change. The new principal is more interested with looking pretty and ignoring problems rather than supporting teachers who do things right. The misguided students run this school and the admin let them by ignoring any negative behavior. The students don't respect teachers and there is no support by admin. for teachers. Most everything this school does is disorganized and thrown together in a sloppy manner, but this is not bad in itself. This is made worse by most involved actually think it's the best that can be done and it's the same everywhere. This school is an example of insanity - doing the same things expecting different results but then feeling sorry for ourselves because it just is our lot in life. Even sadder...teachers are paid the highest in the state in this district (lots of Federal money that also is mismanaged).

This school is great. The teachers are great and have high expectations for the students. The administrators and counselors are easily accessible and available to help. The student population is wonderfully diverse. I love that my child is exposed to so many different cultures.
