This School I feel is judged by its cover. I honestly think that the teachers are amazing and caring. The Students are Respectful to the teachers and the teachers respect us. A lot of people say that drugs are more common here than any other school I strongly disagree all. The school is very safe I have finished my 9th grade year and I have not yet seen a single fight. The diversity is also great all the students respect each other and push each other to focus on learning. All schools have a group of bad kids that disrespect the teachers but here the SROs make sure there is no drugs or vaping among these students. The course selection is huge including (Cooking, Engineering, Latin, Arabic, and Chinese) most of them are called academy classes. The classes are fairly easy too. All in all Fairfax High is the best school I have ever attend.

My oldest daughter went to Fairfax High and my youngest went to Oakton High School. It was a much better experience for my oldest at Fairfax high school. The academics were just as challenging and it was a much more friendly and inviting environment. She was in the top 2% of her class and went on to William & Mary.

One of the best high schools in Fairfax county. Both of my sons went there, both played lacrosse there, one already graduated from medical school from VCU and the other is in medical school at UVA. I would give fairfax high the main credit to their success!

The teachers and community are great, but academic pressure is sometimes overwhelming. Teachers assign lots of homework and tests are heavily weighted. Many students are stressed and are pushed to take many AP classes to be considered competitive. The only good thing is the students have a very strong connection and are very good with diversity... it is very easy to find friends. The music department is also amazing. All of the teachers are fun and our marching band wins states every year. I would only reccomend this school if your student isn't planning on taking as many high level classes or is prepared to study... ALOT!!!! The atmosphere is very competitive and stressful coming from teachers and an area which believes in more is better.-former student
