Lee Davis High School

While our student had his problems with bullying, it is not unusual for kids to experience some sort in high school, and life in general. It was dealt with the best it could be but it falls on parents to not raise kids that do it, it’s not the schools fault. Other than that our child loves the school and has thrived there. The teachers and staff have done a great job assisting us in preparing him for life after school.

It has been heartbreaking because some of the teachers have low expectations for my child. He is not a problem child per se, so instead of involving his parents, he was allowed to fall below standards. No additional homework was offered. Family was not involved. He was simply allowed to fail without any attempt to understand why. There could have been something going on at home. He could be depressed. He could have some learning disability. It could be anything, and no one made an effort to find out. That, to me, is scary.

As an alumni, I will say there are far better schools to send your kids to (try to get into Atlee district!). Very high rates of racism & bullying (even by teachers). Both are completely swept under the rug. I don’t feel like I had the same opportunities (to be involved in activities, to have high expectations of me, etc) as students at other Hanover high schools.Really effected my self esteem long term & I wouldn’t wish that on anyone’s kid. But I’ll give it 2 stars since it’s not the absolute worse high school ever
