Margaret M. Pierce Elementary School

Before moving, I researched the school. It was disappointing to find that they have some of the lowest testing scores in the county/state. The GS rating is only a (3), Grace Millers(the school closer to us) has rating of (7). As time nearly approached to the start of the school year, I did not want them to go. I checked private schools in the area, and even considered the home school option. Due to hectic schedules. MM Pierce was the decision we had to make. Unsatisfied with the schools low scores, I went in with the preconceived notion about how the school year would play out. They would not be here for long. My kids started, and what we assumed WAS NOT at all true. My kids Love this school. I have never had so much communication from teachers about my children, I feel I need to do better. They are on top of it. They are being challenged on a daily basis. Their previous school was a (6) , and I feel this school has much more to offer. They get to participate in clubs and activities like chorus, chess club, accelerated reading , and even learning Chinese. The 3 star rating, does no justice for this school and its awesome teachers.

My son started kindergarten and I was a bit worried. I had moved from Fairfax County where schools ratings are exceptional, and was worried about small town, and if my son would receive quality education. Boy was I taken by suprised, this school is wonderful, and my son is truly doing wonderful. His Teacher is Ms. Daniels is wonderful! My son has learned so much, and he continues to excell, and it's a wonderful feeling to know that, and that MM Pierce is a great place for him.

It's a warm and welcoming school, kids love going there and 0 tollerance for bullying.
