Wisconsin Hills Middle School sets a tone of focus on an individuals growth academically, socially, or emotionally. But you come to find something else. The expectation of excellence is enhanced to the point where students are scared to fail. Although there are certain adults/teachers who oppose this, meaning, their relationships with the students are more than just a teacher to a student, the staff and administration does not truly understand teens. As a former student of Wisconsin Hills, I have my own personal opinions on the school. Elm brook recently has given the school board the opportunity of Chromebooks to amplify the thought of growing academically through personalized learning. As noted, every student learns differently at their own pace, so theoretically this new way of learning would work for everyone. It is proven scientific research that kids will learn anything better when they have the chance to write it down. The use of Chromebooks not only enhances students to push their luck with the devices, but risk their own personal learning at school. The benefits of Chromebooks came when the new principle, Lisa rettler came to the district. It seems as if after Robin Martino left, everything had fallen apart. Mrs. Martino lived by the philosophy of "Make today the best day of your life until tomorrow," which quite frankly couldn't have been more accurate for the school, teachers, and students. She would constantly say how proud she was to be apart of such a great community. She made Wisconsin hills feel like a home. I wish I could say the same for Mrs. Rettler.I want it to be noted that there were some great memories I had made throughout middle school. This school was a learning experience that wasn't exactly how I had hoped it would go. More specifically, I wish the staff and administration would have looked upon the phrase, "act your age." It is important to prepare students for high school and make sure they are aware of the maturity they lack at this age. But,we are kids, and we make mistakes. My personal views on Wisconsin Hills Middle School will not be taking into account so, all I ask is for them to be out there, so they aren't left behind, like the students at WHMS feel, left behind.

This school district is awful for kids with learning disabilities and special needs, does not like to accommodate for the children, it was an absolute battle to get an IEP. Don't send your kid to this district and expect them to get an IEP because it's not going to happen.

I love Wisconsin Hills! Once you enter sixth grade they make you feel right at home. The teachers are fantastic and the kids are friendly too. Very diverse school that pays MUCH attention to academics and sports. They push you to do your best

Wi Hills is the best school I have ever worked at. The students are appreciative and care about learning. The parents support their children's education in every way they can. The administration is incredible!! I have never seen such supportive, positive leadership in a school district. The students in the music program are truely amazing!
