Awesome for all three of my children

This school fails to address the challenges of some students. They pass them even though they shouldn't. Children snowball into falling further and further behind. The future of a student depends on their ability to face the challenges of their future and I can't see how this will help them.

This school is definitely lacking in ALL major areas. Organization is the area they are least successful, many times sending out notification letters for school events and such the DAY BEFORE the actual event! I found out once that the elementary school had taken the children via bus to a concert hosted at the middle school (not far away) without parent consent! They also seem well understaffed as the principal is often the crossing guard, maintenance man, and lunch helper. It is not uncommon to see him on top of the roof fixing and tinkering! During class recesses and lunch recesses you can find him, as well as the front office secretary supervising the children. Staff seems to have many roles at this school, from playing school nurse to driving the school bus! I kid you not, you can imagine the shock when I observed one of the ladies from the front office driving the school bus! Though teachers seem competent, lesson plans need better structure and they teach very little on culture. Little to no extra curricula or assemblies! Kids don't see many field trips as I'd expect 3-4 trips a year, at Brookwod your lucky to get ONE! There is also a need to improve student safety.

I was a student at Brookwood elementary School and then moved on to the middle school. There weren't very many extracurricular activities and i was not being challenged very much especially in reading. I loved the staff, but the curriculum needed some work.
