Mount Horeb Intermediate School

We have had a great experience in the school district up until our kids got to the Intermediate Center for 3rd grade. The principal, Katie Hauge does not focus on some of the problems at hand but harrasses parents for kids playing on the playground after school hours. The staff has a very rude approach at talking to parents as well.

My children went to this school last year and had nothing but problems. We moved here from the other side of the state and were the 'outsiders' so my children were blamed for multiple unsubstantiated claims of them being bullies when the opposite was true. My son has adhd and pediatric bipolar syndrome and the school was well informed of this before the year started. They didn't want to deal with him. The solution to every and any minor issue was send him home. I was also regularly accosted by the special education teacher when I told her many many times when I was there I was in a hurry unless an appointment had been made. She didn't care, she still would not let me leave, standing in the doorways and blocking my way out of the school to complain how horrible my son was. If we were going to continue in the Mount Horeb community and district my children would be home schooled from this point on between paying ridiculous registration and field trip costs at the start of the year as well as through the year, the bullies both child and adult on the bus system and the faculty being very good at harassing parents but not teaching a child.
