The school is definitely good and they make sure to give all students a challenge and things but the administration just needs to care more and really applaud every student no matter if they have a low GPA or what. Each student needs to be recognized- this could have stopped so many things to happen, including the terrible and tradgic incident that happened in late November/ early December of 2017. Come on Lions, we can do better than this.

This rating is regards to the new Standards Based grading system. Several classrooms were used as pilots for this new system that will be fully implemented next year. Our experience to date has been horrible. While in theory this system may sound good, but the inconsistency in how teachers interpret the 1-4 grading system is all over the place. It is almost impossible to achieve an A now. All grades are subjective to a teacher's opinion. Expect GPA's to fall and for students and parents to become very angry, upset and discouraged. The school is using the students as test subjects for a poor system that will take away our kids ability to qualify and obtain scholarships, as well as be able to choose colleges that they would like to attend. This system needs to be adjusted to better fit a High School atmosphere. This is not grade school. Why can't New Berlin understand our concerns and take responsibility for the stress they are causing and how they are destroying opportunities for students? Until other school districts are on board and this system and standards based grading is recognized, this is a disaster! Scholarships and colleges base their decisions on a student's GPA. That's the bottom line. This whole thing makes me sick to my stomach and I wish I would have never moved into the district. Anyone else experiencing this or have concerns?

I'm a former student of this school who graduated a few years ago (2013). While Eisenhower has talented teachers who truly care about the students, administration is enforcing stupid policies and rules that inhibit students from learning. Teachers are required to attend pointless meetings that cut into the amount of time teachers would normally spend helping students, causing the most talented and compassionate teachers to leave the school. Administration only cares about the school's image and not about individual students. If you're a student who makes them look good to the public, they love you. Being what you might call a "high achieving student," I saw first hand that when I did something recognizable, administration was all over it. As soon as it died down, it was like I didn't even exist. The school needs more classes and resources to prepare students for the real world, especially since most students in this district have no idea what it's like to take care of themselves. College is going to knock most of these kids to the ground. Overall, poor policies and attitudes result in discouraged teachers, negative students, and an overall worsening experience.
