Decent school, i would recommend bringing your child there. most teachers are good and the system for the most part runs smoothly

I heard great things about this school and decided to send my child here, but to be honest.... this school isn't that great. Most of the staff are rude and don't really care about your child's success, unless your child is the "model" student. They say they don't believe in bullying, but then they do nothing about it. Actually, I've learned that the schools says a lot, but does nothing to back up what is actually said. I would not recommend this school if your child has been bullied, mental illnesses, or has ADHD/ADD. They don't have time to give equal education rights to students that are not the "model" student.

I went to South Milwaukee and graudated from there. I attended MPS from k4 - 8th grade and wanted to get out of that system as soon as possible being the only "acceptable" schools to attend were on the otherside of town. Im a mixed African-American female so it was a big shock going from a predominantly African American school to South Milwaukee. It is an okay school the teachers are great and very involved in the students lives, I just wish the school was a bit more diverse. Also it is hard adjusting to the atmopshere if you did not attend the SM school district all your life. Majority of the kids grew up and having being going to school with each other since kindergarten. The campus is very nice, and the block scheduling has its perks and downfalls sometiems you can only teach so much so there is a lot of down time which students use to mess around or do nothing. I enjoyed my four years but there are somethings that I would change.
