About Anderson Mill

Anderson Mill is a well-established community in the popular northwest section of Austin. With easy access to Highways 183 and 45, most of the greater Austin metropolitan area is no more than a 30-minute drive from the community. Austin's northwest tech corridor and major shopping areas such as Lakeline Mall are virtually right outside of Anderson Mill's entrances. The community has about 3,400 homes, of which the vast majority are single-family dwellings. There are a couple of neighborhoods of villas and townhouses in its middle and homes on larger, more secluded lots can be found in the Anderson Mill Estates section.

Around Anderson Mill

Anderson Mill's seven parks are placed throughout the community so that all residents have an easy walk to at least one of them. They house a number of great facilities which are professionally managed by Anderson Mill Limited District. The district boasts two wonderful aquatic facilities. Each have large outdoor pools that are heated in the winter, offering residents year-round swimming. Kids have a blast in the splash park and the littlest ones have their own wading pool. A fitness center at the El Salido Pool complex, though not flashy, is a clean, convenient work-out facility. There are several miles of trails which wind through the community and are ideal for dog-walking and jogging. Also spread out amongst the parks are a number of tennis courts, playgrounds, and a basketball court. Within the community's boundaries are three schools: Anderson Mill Elementary, Grisham Middle School, and Westwood High School. All are in the Round Rock Independent School District, which is ranked in the top 25 districts in Texas. Westwood High ranks as one of the top 10 high schools in the state.

The district staff works hard to pack the community's calendar with activities year-round. Exercise classes at the fitness center and pools have something for all ages and levels. Personal training is available at the center for very reasonable rates. Aquatic classes include basic swimming, diving, and lifeguard training. The district also hosts a mini-marathon once a year in July. The senior activity center keeps its membership going with a number of events and clubs. Day trips and weekly clubs are highlights and tai chi is the preferred method of light exercise. For the younger crowd, there are a number of youth day camps and after-school programs.
