At Neighborhoods.com, we’re making a difference in the way people buy and sell their home. Want to join the neighborhood?
Who We Are
At our core, we believe where someone lives is just as important, if not more important, than the home itself. Neighborhoods.com is the parent company 55places.com , 55places Mortgage, and its product namesake: @neighborhoods. While there are differences between each website, all of our products serve the purpose of helping everyone find a place to call home.

Diversity, Equity, And Inclusion
Our purpose at Neighborhoods.com is to help everyone find a place to call home. Home can mean so many different things, but to us it’s the place where you can be your true and authentic self, surrounded by people who both challenge you and support you.

Work From Home
My work changes lives.
We are guiding people through one of the most important decisions of their life. We are helping people find a community and home that will bring them happiness and improve their lives. We are creating opportunity for our partner agents and fellow employees to succeed and grow.
The culture starts with me.
It begins on the inside. I make this a fun and enriching place to work and I create the environment I want to work in. If the culture does not meet my expectations, I am empowered to make a change.
Curiosity is a virtue. Seek. Understand. Be thorough. Expect the best from my teammates and myself in everything we produce.
Do the right thing.
We value authenticity, caring, and being good citizens. I make no decisions without first considering if my mother would approve.
Kaizen. No Compromizin’.
We believe in constant improvement and growth, personally and professionally. Every process in our business has opportunity to improve and I strive to make those changes.
If it is to be, it is up to me.
I’m smart, resourceful, and empowered to make it happen. I’m enthusiastic, persistent, not afraid to take risks and work harder and smarter than our competitors.
You're not a robot, so your application isn't reviewed by one either! To make sure we find the right fit for the role, we (actual humans) review every submission. Sometimes this can take longer than anticipated, but rest assured, if your credentials meet the position requirements and the hiring team is interested in speaking to you, a team member will be in touch.
During the global COVID-19 pandemic, we have been working from home and intend to continue doing so until it is deemed safe to return to our office. Additionally, the People Ops team has ensured that developmental and well-being activities continue. We’re proud to offer lunch-n-learn sessions, training workshops, and happy hours––all virtually.
Yes, we have a private room in our office that can be reserved for nursing, prayer, or meditation. Just let a People Ops associate know what you require, and they will make arrangements for you to use this space.
Both! Neighborhoods.com, LLC is the company that runs the consumer-facing websites neighborhoods.com and 55places.com. Most roles within our company impact both websites, because they are powered by similar technology and processes.
Our team is currently working remotely, but our company intends to return to in-person office work when it is safe to do so and employees feel comfortable going in.
Each role has a different hiring timeline depending on the technicality and seniority of a position. The hiring process may be as rapid as three weeks, or could take three months. Your interviewer will lay out a timeline during your phone screen to set the proper expectations. If you did not get one during your phone screen then email firstname.lastname@example.org for an update.
In short, they don’t. Your answers are not visible by the hiring manager or the recruiter in conjunction with your application. The data we collect helps us understand who is applying for roles at Neighborhoods.com, and adjust our diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives appropriately.
At Neighborhoods.com, we want you to bring your whole self to work, and we mean that during the interview process, too. Show up in whatever makes you feel comfortable, but that your mom would also approve. Three piece suit? If that's your style. Jeans and t-shirt? You'll find a lot of us rockin' that every day. Prom dress? Maybe save that for themed trivia day.
We recommend checking out neighborhoods.com and 55places.com, our primary consumer-facing products. Our profiles on Glassdoor, Built in Chicago, and InHerSight are also great resources, and our Life at Neighborhoods.com and Neighborhoods.com Engineering Medium blogs offer more insight into our company culture. In some cases, we will ask you to complete a case study or technical exercise in advance of your interview. The exercise will help us understand your skill level and will not take more than an hour or two. Don’t worry, this won’t be for an open project within the organization––we’re not asking you to work for free!
Yes, our building is accessible; there is a ramp and power-assisted door at the entrance to the building and multiple elevators that lead to our floor. On our floor, there is a gender-neutral accessible bathroom just outside of the elevators. The door to our office is not currently power assisted, so if that’s something you’ll need, just let the recruiter or interviewer know ahead of time so we can make sure there’s someone ready to help you enter with ease. If you need specific accommodations not listed here, please reach out to your hiring team to discuss.
Neighborhoods.com strives to create an equitable and inclusive experience for everyone. If there is something we can do to make your experience better which is not listed on this FAQ page, or if you need any accommodations throughout the interview process, please do not hesitate to ask.

Of course! We recognize that people have diverse backgrounds and skill sets that are applicable in a variety of positions, and encourage applicants to apply to all roles matching their skill set.
