Apache Shores is ideal for nature lovers. Getting out on the Colorado River for boating and fishing are obvious choices, but there’s a lot more just minutes away. River Place Nature Trail, and Arkansas Bend Park are great places for casual hiking. Barton Creek Habitat Preserve has over 4,000 acres of pristine Hill Country for visitors to marvel. Also, some parks in the area allow primitive camping. For a family fun day, there’s Volente Beach Waterpark which offers a number of serious water slides, outdoor movies and live musical acts.
Living in Apache Shores may seem rustic, but civilization is not far away. Grocery shopping and other necessities are a short drive down FM260. There’s a wide array of dining options, from fast food to upscale. A number of independent restaurants offer up Mexican, Japanese and Italian cuisines.
