An easy hike along Indian Creek past Lake Apache leads to the community’s bucolic Geronimo Park, which includes a wonderful little play area for the kids. Residents also have access to Apache Shore’s private boat launch, which doubles as a great place for grilling and picnics under huge shade trees. Children in Apache Shores attend Lake Travis ISD schools. The school district is ranked highly on local, state, and national levels. Also, some parks in the area allow primitive camping. For a family fun day, there’s Volente Beach Waterpark which offers a number of serious water slides, outdoor movies and live musical acts. Living in Apache Shores may seem rustic, but civilization is not far away. Grocery shopping and other necessities are a short drive down FM260. There’s a wide array of dining options, from fast food to upscale. A number of independent restaurants offer up Mexican, Japanese and Italian cuisines.
