We have lived here for 3 years. Many things were kept from us before we purchased. The property is surrounded by many commercial businesses that are loud and smelly. People are okay. Almost complete with 1000 homes.

We recently closed on our new house at Arlington Ridge, and are extremely impressed with the buying process and the home that we ended up with. One of the highlights of buying a place at Arlington Ridge is the ability to customize it. It really is possible to make is exactly the dream home that you are dreaming of. We did; they even put a cat door in for us. The quality control is also first-rate. When we did our walk-through, the FLC agent found more issues than we did, and was prompt in making sure that the few issues that were found were addressed quickly. One reason I selected Arlington Ridge is the concrete block construction of all homes. This is extremely valuable in Florida, since there are occasional hurricanes. It is also one item that differentiates it from The Villages, where not all homes are concrete block construction. The amenities are first-rate here. We are enjoying the pools and the golf course. The first day we were here, there was a block party dinner. It seems our block does this once a month. We had a great time, and found out we had friendly neighbors. Two weeks later one person on our block had a party at their house for the new residents, where they had a chance to meet their neighbors in a social setting. We just tried to buy at Arlington Ridge, cash deal. The salesman pressured us to fly out now as "lots are selling fast".. We did, selected a lot, selected a house plan, but could not return during the three-day design window two months from now. We could make it a week after that, but they would not lock in our lot or price by contract. Also there is NO negotiation or date flexibility. Our 55+ agent could not get AR to budge, so I don't really see any need to get a purchase agent to tag along.

We have been residents for a little over a year and absolutely love our home, the community, and the people. This is a very friendly community with so amenities to choose. We definitely found home.
