Local beers are abundant, allowing you to taste some of the unique flavors brewed in Avondale and throughout north Florida. For those who want to take it easy, there's always something to be said for grabbing a pizza from one of the local pizzerias and eating on a blanket in the park.

Relax while taking in views of the river at one of the many restaurants that serve up pancakes, fried eggs, and all of your other favorite breakfast items. Then take a walk over to one of the parks to play ball or just people-watch. There's always The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, which is one of the largest art museums in North Florida. The Shoppes of Avondale have a wide array of jewelry, children's clothing, home decor, and more. A variety of lunch options exist as well.

It's a very chic urban area of Jacksonville, so you are sure to see a variety of different things. Children will be playing in Boone Park and Fishweir Park, families will be enjoying views of the river while having picnics, and people of all ages will be walking around enjoying the various boutique shops. It's a relatively quiet area since most of the noise happens on the west side of the city. In Avondale, it's peaceful and all of the different age groups get along with everyone.
