Ocotillo Ridge Elementary School

This school, the teachers, the staff, and the administrators have been great for our child.

I laugh at the 18:1 student teacher ratio. No one wants to works for this district since they are the lowest paying in the area. Theres supposed to be 4 2nd grades, there are 3. That means 3 classes of 31, 31, and 32 students. This isn't the only grade this is happening in. And a brand new teacher who is not only learning the ropes but doing so with such a massive class. We feel left out of the loop on info in the big school. Sure, high test scores. Great. I'm not impressed. Don't hate it, don't love it. But don't believe the teacher student ratio one bit.

I'm sorry, but this school is the perfect example that looks can be deceiving, or that nice, affluent districts DO NOT equate the best quality schools. I have volunteered at this school. The mean-girl mentality, as well as pettiness and lack of professionalism behind the scenes by some of the staff and teachers (and others) is very sad. I would not recommend this school for ANYONE who is expecting a genuinely nurturing and positive learning environment for their child. We need TEACHERS who are good, quality human beings who truly love their craft!

I have had children at ORE for the past 4 years, experiencing K-5. The principal, teachers and staff are very approachable and seem to love what they do! They care about the care and success of the students. In the past when I had concerns I was able to speak with the principal, she researched, evaluated and mad the necessary changes to ensure the success and growth of every student. My kids love their school, they love going too school! Thank you ORE!! U Rock!
