Around Bay Colony

Bay Colony offers up several community swimming pools to beat the Texas heat. One is resort-style, complete with a splash park for the kids. Two more pools are Olympic-style with multiple lanes for swimmers needing to get their laps. Each pool area also includes playgrounds and/or tennis courts. The community is served by the Dickinson Independent School District. Bay Colony Elementary is in its center and has grades PK through 4. Other schools in the area are Calder Road Elementary, Lobit Elementary, Dunbar Middle School and Dickinson High School.

Bay Colony residents can always find something to do in either Dickinson or League City. There’s plenty available for family fun. There are two large cineplexes, the Bayou Wildlife Zoo, the Kemah Boardwalk and the Schlitterbahn Waterpark Galveston within a 30 minute drive from Bay Colony’s entrance. For youth sports, League City offers a full array of programs for boys and girls. Little League baseball also has a thriving program in League City. Shopping needs are easily met anywhere along I-45. Virtually every major retailer and restaurant chain has a location along the highway or in one of its malls. Grocery shopping is right outside the community’s northern boundary on Rte 646.
