According to the Dallas Morning News, the Hub 121 mixed-use development won’t just boost the urban lifestyle of more than 25,000 residents living in Craig Ranch in McKinney, it’s designed to become a destination for North Texas visitors and magnet for attracting businesses.

The 22-acre retail, restaurant, and entertainment complex will be built at the Craig Ranch entrance on State Highway 121 and Alma Road in McKinney. Hub 121’s next door neighbor will be the new headquarters campus for Independent Bank Group, which plans to employ up to 1,200 workers.

"This is a tremendous addition for Craig Ranch, and corporate America tells us it wants eateries and 'drinkeries' within walking distance to headquarter locations," Craig Ranch developer David Craig told the News. "We've waited a long time to get a venue like this."

Phase I construction on Hub 121 is slated to begin in January 2018 with those venues opening in early 2019. In addition to building 40,000 square feet of restaurant space in three clusters, the first phase will include a performance stage for live music events and movies, 20,000 square feet of retail space, and 287 urban residences.

Additional retail space, offices, and a hotel are planned for the second phase of construction.

"We feel good about the depth of [the] Craig Ranch market," Shane Jordan, who is partnering with Larry Masi to develop Hub 121, told the paper. "We thought this type of project would be successful because there is nowhere in [the] McKinney market with a development like this."
