The building boom moving through Los Angeles' Koreatown neighborhood continues its march north as plans have been submitted to build a 16-story mixed-use tower at 3800 W. 6th Street.

The building would sit on an .85-acre property bounded by Hobart Boulevard and Serrano Avenue and contain a hotel on floors two through seven topped by condos from the eighth to 16th floors. The exact number of hotel rooms or condos was not immediately available.

The application did include a request for a conditional use permit for to serve alcoholic beverages, implying that there will be a bar or restaurant component as well.

This is the latest in a line of high-rise developments that will be remaking the neighborhood in the years to come. A ten-story hotel/residential complex is planned nearby at 6th Street and Harvard Boulevard while a 35-story tower is in the works along 7th Street just south of this location.
